And the bases were loaded!!! Or maybe they weren't... I am not quite sure. I am not really a baseball fan, but I can say that I had a great time at the Nats game! The nationals stadium is one of the cleanest and easily navigatable stadiums I have ever been in! We arrived at the game a little bit late but they still let us in and we found our seats after grabbing a cold beer. My partner and I sat and watched the game and even though the two of us didn't really know what was going on, we became infected by the roar of the crowd and the overall atmosphere of the event.
This was actually a new experience for us. I don't think we would ever really consider going to a game. So this experience actually got us out of our comfort zone a bit and we stayed on for a while until we both started getting a bit hungry. But before we left we got to see the presidential run, yell CHARGE!! As well as almost catch a fly ball. All in all a very exciting afternoon!
We swung by the restrooms, which were cleaner than most stadium restrooms I have been in and we also decided to go by the Nats Shop at the stadium. I decided to get a tee shirt to commemorate the event. On our way back to the metro - which wasn't properly due to an earlier derailment - we both agreed that this was something we should do once and a while, and if we didn't go for the assignment, we may not have ever gone!
So sometimes the best thing about doing things that you are unsure of is the possibility that you may have a great time! So keep an open mind - just make sure to bring snacks!
