The Ritz-Carlton presentation was eye opening. We had the
honor of hearing from Diana Oreck, the Vice President of the Leadership Center.
I love the ideology of how the organization pushes its culture from the top on
down. The organizations commitment to its culture is commendable.
“Leadership cannot abdicate their responsibility in driving
the organization’s culture and service strategy.”
Oreck firmly believes in the strategy of leadership honoring
the same methods they expect from their employees. Her commitment is so strong
that she will not train executives that believe they should not have to
participate in the same expectations of their brand. We could clearly see her
love and enthusiasm for this commitment radiating from her during the
presentation. It was impossible not to feel the same excitement for the brand
starting to imprint itself on me. This love and excitement for its brand and
the employees is obvious. They are frequently awarded best employer and place a
significant amount of money in educating their staff.
This culture allows this organization to create amazing
experiences and devoted clients. One cannot argue that validness of their principles
when their turnover rate is significantly lower than the industries’ average. A
company would be wise to invest in training from the Leadership Center. They
have created a strategy that is simple to imitate, the devil is simply in the
details.
